• If the Blue Devils reach the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament, it would be the ninth time since 2011, which would be the second most appearances in the NCAA since 2011.
• Duke is making his 28th NCAA tournament appearance and making his seventh top-16 national appearance in the last eight seasons.
• It is the first time in school history that Duke has achieved a 2nd place finish after receiving three 1st places and five 3rd places.

• Junior Katie Groff played with South Carolina’s Camryn Dixon and Abby Hugo for the NC Courage Girls Development Academy before going to college.
• With South Carolina’s arrival in Durham for the NCAAs, Duke junior Nicky Chico was reunited with her sister Emily, who is a freshman in the Gamecocks roster.
Delaney Graham needs 116 minutes played to become Duke’s all-time NCAA Tournament Minutes leader. It has 1,247 minutes.
Katie Groff has four career goals and three of those are game winners after scoring the winner against Texas on Friday.
• Duke has not lost a match since October 13 at FSU. In those seven games, the Blue Devils are 4-0-3, beating their opponents 13-3.
Michelle Cooper and Kat Rader have scored 27 goals together this season.

THE SERIES WITH SOUTH CAROLINA
• Duke and South Carolina meet for the fifth time in school history, with the Blue Devils leading the series 2-1-1.
• The two teams will meet for the second time in the NCAA tournament when the two teams met in the first round on November 16, 2007 in Athens, Georgia. The Blue Devils went on 4-1 on penalties.
• The last time the teams met was on August 25, 2013, when the Gamecocks won 1-0.
• In the 2022 pre-season, the teams met in Durham in a friendly on 12 August. Duke scored a 2-1 win as Katie Groff and Julia Hannon posted goals. All three goals for the teams came in the second half and Duke played without Michelle Cooper and Carina Lageyrewho were with the US squad.

RECOGNIZING THE GAMECOCKS
• South Carolina defeated Wake Forest (2-0) and Harvard (3-2) to reach the round of 16.
• The Gamecocks are 15-3-5 overall this season and have not lost a game to Vanderbilt since Oct. 14.

• The Blue Devils are 37-19-9 all-time against SEC opponents. Duke is currently on a four-game winning streak against SEC opponents.

GROFF NET WINNER…
• Duke received Friday’s game winner 87-42 against 16th-placed Texas in the second round of the NCAA Mackenzie Pluck found Katie Groff for a header after a corner kick.
• Groff scored her fourth career goal and third winner.
• Pluck notched her 29th career assist, which put her fourth on Duke’s all-time charts.

STRONG DEFENSE…
• The Blue Devils’ defense continues to shine in the postseason as Duke have conceded just one goal in their last four games, including three straight shutouts.
• Overall, Duke have conceded just three goals in their last seven games.
• Duke has had 11 shutouts this season Ruthie Jones has six in goal.

IN NCAA TOURNAMENT
• The Blue Devils are going into their 28th all-time NCAA championship, holding an overall record of 47-23-11 in 81 tournament games.
• The Blue Devils are 40-16-10 under Robbie Church in the NCAA championship. In 20 of his 22 seasons at Durham, he led Duke to the big dance.
