Rob Allen elected new President and CEO of Intermountain Healthcare

Rob Allen, Intermountain Healthcare’s longtime Chief Operating Officer, has been elected as the organization’s new President and CEO. He was selected through a thorough search process led by the Intermountain Board of Trustees and involving a panel of esteemed healthcare executive candidates from across the country.

“Rob embodies the Intermountain values ​​and will provide steady, servant leadership to the organization. He has always put our patients and caregivers first,” said Mike Leavitt, chairman of the Intermountain Healthcare Board and former Utah governor and US Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Allen has over 25 years of healthcare leadership experience and was CEO of hospitals in Massachusetts, New Jersey and Wyoming before joining Intermountain in 2008. During his time at Intermountain, Allen served as Regional Operating Officer and CEO of Park City Medical Center, Regional Vice President and most recently as Chief Operating Officer for Health Systems, a role he has held for nearly six years.

The transition in leadership from interim President and CEO Lydia Jumonville to Allen will take place on Friday, December 1, 2022. Jumonville will continue to serve as Executive Sponsor of Integration for Intermountain until her scheduled retirement in late 2023.

Intermountain Healthcare operates several clinics and hospitals in Montana. Holy Rosary Healthcare is a 25-bed critical-access hospital in Miles City and has been serving eastern Montana for over 100 years. St. Vincent Healthcare is a 286-bed hospital in Billings and has been providing innovative medical treatments and services to the people of Montana, Wyoming and the western Dakotas for nearly 125 years.
